about

Michael’s love for filmmaking began in the attic of his childhood home, where he spent hours editing VHS tapes between two VCRs, crafting stories with nothing but a camcorder and a relentless curiosity. By fifteen, he was making films starring his family, experimenting with miniDV cameras, and learning the language of cinema.

That early spark led a successful career as a director, with films screening at festivals like VIFF, Foyle Film Festival, and FIN Atlantic. His short films Unkept and Deeper I Go have won multiple awards, including a Leo Award for Agam Darshi and a UBCP/ACTRA Award for Hiro Kanagawa. Michael has also received several awards, including Best Director and Best Short Film at the Chilliwack Independent Film Festival.

Beyond his directing, Michael has worked as an editor on television series for Hulu, History Channel, and A&E, including series like Dead Man’s Curse. His editorial work also extends to documentaries such as Delta Dawn (2024), which screened at VIFF, DOC NYC, and CIFF, earning him a nomination for Best Editing.
